Soundproof Office Pod

The HEMU Acoustics Soundproof Office Pod is a fully enclosed single-occupancy acoustic workspace designed for open-plan offices, co-working spaces, and corporate campuses where focus work is constantly disrupted by ambient noise. Unlike open or semi-open acoustic booths, the office pod provides four sealed walls, a full-height acoustic door, and an overhead panel — creating a genuinely private enclosed space with STC 42 noise reduction.

The pod's 130 mm composite wall system uses a decoupled inner and outer leaf with mass-loaded vinyl (MLV) interlay and acoustic mineral wool fill, achieving 42 dB of airborne sound reduction across the 125 Hz–4 kHz range. The floor is raised on vibration-isolating mounts that prevent structure-borne noise transmission from foot traffic or mechanical plant.

A dual-circuit active ventilation system maintains ≥ 25 m³/h fresh air per occupant at ≤ 32 dB(A) fan noise — significantly quieter than typical open-plan HVAC. An integrated air quality sensor displays CO₂, humidity, and temperature on a touchscreen panel mounted inside the door.

The work surface (900 mm × 600 mm) is fixed at 740 mm desk height with a monitor arm mount point integrated into the rear wall panel. A 4-socket power strip with individual USB-A and USB-C (100W) ports runs along the desk surface. Overhead LED lighting is adjustable between 300 lux (warm relaxed work) and 600 lux (task-focused illumination).

The pod assembles from flat-pack panels in under 90 minutes without specialist tools and is designed to fit through standard 900 mm doorways for installation flexibility in existing buildings.
