Overview
Industrial noise control is a regulatory and operational imperative. The HEMU Acoustics Soundproof Chamber provides walk-in acoustic isolation for engines, generators, compressors, blowers, and other high-noise plant equipment — achieving compliance with local occupational noise regulations (85 dB(A) action level under EU Directive 2003/10/EC) and reducing environmental noise impact.
Chambers are constructed from a double-skin steel panel system with mineral wool or glass wool infill. Standard insertion loss ranges from 30 dB for single-skin light-duty applications to 55 dB for heavy industrial or outdoor utility rooms requiring maximum noise reduction.
All chambers incorporate a ventilation system with acoustic attenuators on supply and exhaust ducts, sized for the heat rejection of the enclosed equipment. Cable and pipe penetrations are sealed with acoustic putty and flexible boots. Personnel access is provided via double-rebate acoustic doors.
Optional features include maintenance craneways, overhead door sets for equipment removal, exhaust silencers, anti-vibration mounts, and fire suppression system integration. ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 variants available for installations with flammable atmospheres.
Key Features
Double-Skin Steel Construction
Outer steel sheet, acoustic infill, and inner perforated liner. Panel joints sealed with acoustic mastic. Tested to ISO 11546-1.
Ventilation System
Supply and exhaust fans sized for equipment heat rejection. Inlet and outlet attenuators achieve 20–30 dB duct break-in noise reduction.
ATEX Certified Variants
Zone 1 and Zone 2 ATEX versions with intrinsically safe lighting, explosion-relief panels, and ATEX-rated electrical components throughout.
Equipment Access
Acoustic overhead doors in widths up to 6 m for forklift and crane access. Sealed cable trays and pipe penetrations maintain acoustic performance.
Vibration Isolation
Optional anti-vibration mounts under chamber floor slab isolate structure-borne noise. Inertia base design available for reciprocating machinery.
Custom Configuration
All chamber dimensions, door positions, penetrations, and services are designed per project. Acoustic design simulation provided with quotation.
