Overview
Open-plan offices generate an average of 86 interruptions per day, costing knowledge workers up to 2.5 hours of productive time. The HEMU Acoustics Focus Work Pod creates an immediate private acoustic environment that reduces intelligible speech from the surrounding office by 30 dB DS,A — statistically eliminating cognitive distraction from nearby conversations.
The interior is sized to seat one person comfortably at a height-adjustable desk (70–120 cm range) with a monitor, keyboard, and a notebook. At 122 × 100 cm exterior footprint, the pod is suited to standard office tile grids and requires no minimum aisle clearance beyond a 60 cm swing radius for the door.
Silent ventilation maintains air exchange above 26 l/s (94 m³/h) at a noise level below 38 dB(A) inside the pod — equivalent to a quiet library. The system uses an EC brushless motor with acoustic duct baffles, consuming 28 W at maximum airflow. An integrated CO₂ sensor automatically adjusts fan speed.
The pod ships in two cartons and assembles in under 30 minutes without tools using a panel-lock system. No drilling, adhesive, or floor anchoring is required. Height-adjustable levelling feet accommodate floor gradients up to 3°. Available in 8 standard finishes or any custom RAL color.

Multi-layer wall panels tested to EN ISO 23351-1 (European standard for office acoustic pods). 30 dB DS,A reduces a typical 65 dB(A) conversation in the surrounding office to below 35 dB(A) inside the pod — below the threshold of speech intelligibility.
CO₂-Adaptive Silent Ventilation
Integrated CO₂ sensor continuously monitors air quality. EC motor fan adjusts from minimum to maximum airflow (26 l/s) automatically, maintaining CO₂ below 1,000 ppm without manual adjustment. Noise level below 38 dB(A) at maximum airflow.
Height-Adjustable Desk (70–120 cm)
Built-in height-adjustable desk accommodates both seated and standing work positions. Supports up to 25 kg. Cable management channel routes power and data cables cleanly to the work surface.
Flat-Pack, Tool-Free Assembly
Panel-lock construction requires no tools, adhesives, or floor fixing. Two carton delivery on standard freight. One person can complete assembly in under 30 minutes. Levelling feet accommodate floors with up to 3° gradient.
Integrated Power & Connectivity
Two universal power outlets (100–240 V), USB-A fast-charge, USB-C Power Delivery port, and optional Cat6 data passthrough. LED panel lighting (800 lux, 4000 K) with dimmer control built into the door frame.
Full-Height Glass Door
Laminated 8 mm safety glass door with soft-close magnetic latch. Maintains visual connection to the surrounding office. Inner door handle for occupant privacy control.
